Have you considered all of the following?
There are many reasons you need to choose the right home. Here are some ideas that can help get you started.
Your budget: This is one of the biggest deciding factors. If you’re not paying cash for the home, then make room for that down payment in your budget; it’s usually twenty to thirty percent of the purchase price of your home. At this point it is good to get in contact with your lender to be pre-qualified, if you’re planning to mortgage the home. Most Realtors will not begin the house hunt without it. Sometimes credit can be an issue, if you need help with your credit, we can get you connected to the right people. By having the pre-qual. and your credit all completed you will be ahead and make the process flow smoothly.
The Price: You want a fair price. Costs are going up but do your homework on what you’re looking for.
What area do you want to live in? What works best with your family, work commute, school, etc…? There are so many factors that play into this decision. There can be other reasons for living in a certain community. You may find that being out of major big cities may be where you feel your heart calling you, or certain amenities that a community or neighborhood can offer may draw you over being close to work/school. It’s definitely a personal and very important decision to make.
The Style: The style of the home can be important to the feel of “home”. Having a part in the detail of the design and build will add a lot of that personal touch you may be looking for in your home. If it is not a new build, then look for structural/must haves you want. You can always add cosmetic changes like paint, carpet/flooring and decor that will further give that house, the home feel you want.
Room Size, Closets and Garage Space: These are very important to making the housework for you.
Size of Yard: If the size of the yard has an appeal to you, then make sure it will work for you and/or your family.
Other Amenities: What might you want for your home in the future, it is always good to make sure they are allowable. It could be that certain homes don’t allow swimming pools, for example. You wouldn’t want to assume they are and be wrong.
